It keeps time but it is a little quirky.
First, it looks good and can be easily read. It is well made and sturdy.
PROS - it plays a musical song on the hour.
Here are some CONS -- but don't jump the gun and say no because I am listing them.
- it only plays one song -- The Air Force Song. It would be nice if it played 12 different pieces or sounds like other musical clocks do.
- it plays the song loudly. Much louder than any other clock of its type. You could dampen the sound with some masking tape over the speaker holes if you want.
- the song is LONG -- over a minute. That is way too long; IMHO.
Now for the fun part
- The notes it plays are not necessarly as you know the song to be. Some notes are missing and some are in the wrong octive or off key -- not all but some -- the music is so amusing that it makes one smile, perhaps laugh when you hear it.
If you are ex-Air Force (I am) and are going to have a buddy or buddies over, this clock is a MUST to have on your wall sounding the 'twisted' version of The Air Force Song providing a conversation piece and a bunch of laughs each hour. Anyway, it might beat a singing fish on your wall.
