(More customer reviews)This clock looks beautiful on the wall. However, the ticking is quite loud. I originally had it placed on a wall about 10 feet to the side of our TV, but the ticking was just too annoying. We had to take it down. I wrote to the clock manufacturer to see if there was any way to silence the tick and was told "All step mode clocks are ticking. If it bothers you, you have to buy sweep mode clocks." They responded quickly and did offer to take the clock back. However, the time and expense to return it is hardly worth it since it is an inexpensive item.
I am not sure how to tell if a clock is "step mode" or "sweep mode" from the descriptions I've seen on Amazon. Would be nice if the product description for all wall clocks stated whether or not there is an audible tick tock.
