In a world of animated time-pieces, electronic chimes that play 83 songs, plastic, resin or particle board construction, it's chicken soup for my soul to own this clock. My grandmother had a clock similar to this and the deep, resonant chimes would lull me to sleep. This clock's chimes are full and rich - none of that tinny, canned stuff. Our house has high ceilings and acoustics really make the tolling of the clock that much more dramatic. I love winding this clock once a week. It's somehow satisfying to use the silver key to prepare for another week.
This clock will be a delight to own and a treasure for generations to come. This is what quality looks like.
