I bought this ornament at my local Hallmark store after my six-year-old saw the commercial for it on TV and begged me to get it. After paying twenty bucks for it I was a little disappointed that it didn't come with batteries, or at least a hook to hang it up, but it's a cute ornament so I got over it. We set the date and time pretty easily and it was up in running in no time. The kids were thrilled that they could see exactly "how long 'til Christmas." The problem is it only lasted about two days before the screen started to go blank at random times. Having put brand new batteries in it the first day, I was a bit perplexed that it had stopped working, but decided to change the batteries anyway and give it another go. Another couple of days later--same problem. I've opened the back panel several times in the month that we've had it, rearranged the batteries, reset the clock, and always end up looking at the blank screen again, sometimes less than a day later. Kind of defeats the point in the whole countdown. The kids have lost interest in it since it's not working most of the time, and I can't return it to the store without a receipt (which I had no reason to keep). I'm really upset that we wasted the money on this product.
