(More customer reviews)I bought this clock for my son's room because I thought that it would be a unique accessory to his Disney "Cars" themed room. Since he isn't old enough to tell time yet, it serves more as decorative feature in his room.
When I received this clock, the seconds hand was detatched from the hour, and minute hands. I was annoyed when I realized the only way for me to fix it, was to disassemble the clock, reattach the seconds hand, and reassemble the clock.
It 2 power sources:
1)*1 AC adaptor (included) for the white neon light inside the clock
2)*1 AA battery(NOT included) for the powering the clock
It weighs about 10 lbs., and the only way the neon light will work is with the AC adaptor. The cord is about 6ft long, so it must be hung close to an outlet. If you use an extention cord, the weight of it will cause the clock to become crooked. The neon light isn't very bright. It gives off a soft glow, just enought show off Mater's cute face at night.
Overall, the clock is well built, and can still keep time without the use of the AC adaptor. For the amount I paid for the clock, there should have been more options for powering the neon light.
