(More customer reviews)I intended this product as a gift, and it was indeed very happily received. It is operating perfectly, and has not disappointed in any way.
I would, however, point out two design matters that, for me, are flaws.
First, there is a reason why virtually all actual electronic scoreboards stay away from red numerals. Red against black is extremely difficult to read for the millions of us who are colorblind. Green, or yellow, or blue, or even white would make for a product all could use and enjoy.
Second, these products are made for fans of particular teams. Because the "Home" team is shown on the left and the "Visitor" on the right, the home score will not go above 12, and the visitor's score will go to 59. Why produce a scoreboard clock on which the purchaser's favorite team will appear to be losing nearly 4/5 of the time?
I realize it's silly to make too much of such things. The product seems to be a good, and durable, one. But the essence of such a product--and such a purchase--seems to me to involve both the easy readability of the "scoreboard" and the highlighting of the chosen team. At least for me, this product comes with two design defects.
