Because meditation timers can be very costly, this mandala-style clock meets the visual needs for time keeping while a singing bowl can meet the needs for a bell once this lovely clock signals the time. This is a sturdy, stone clock that has a lovely iron frame to keep it well balanced. It takes one AA battery that seems to last a long time. I highly recommend Howard Miller clocks, especially this one that is so unique.
