This is a quality product for the money but mine shipped in a time warp. It clocked in at 1 min 10 seconds which is a bit off for a one minute timer.
Luckily you can unscrew the brass container, peel back some tape and remove sand until you get it to the time you want. But this issue earned it only 3 stars.

This antique style hourglass is constructed from brass. Its running time is about 1 minute and the height is about 3.5".

Hourglasses were one of the few ways of measuring time out at sea. It's been suggested that their use started as early as the 11th century. Magellan even carried 18 hourglasses on each of his ships during his trip around the globe. His pages used them to provide the time for the ship's log. From the 1400s they have been used in capacities ranging from kitchen timers to industrial uses.

These hourglasses make beautiful display pieces in any nautical or Old Fashion decor.
