This piece of junk has no reason to exist. that is, it doesn't measure relative humidity with any accuracy whatsoever. At times it's 4 or 5% off. Other times it's 10-12% off. It's simply useless as a hygrometer. Oh, and the thermometer is no better.
(FYI: I know this unit is wrong because I have several indoor hygrometers. I use them to keep my guitars properly humidified. I have this piece of junk in the same spot as three other hygrometers, which are all within 1-2% of each other. This one is never even close.)
