(More customer reviews)I bought this originally thinking that it was a novelty item and looked cool. It is actually much nicer and more useful than I had hoped. We put it on our mantel and it's very cool looking and everyone always likes to ask what it is and how it works. The colors and clean lines make it nice enough that it doesn't seem like a toy. It's actually very accurate also (although by accurate it is in 4 degree increments so it's not a swiss watch) and much more interesting to look at than a digital thermometer, it also tends to catch your eye if a lot of balls are up or down - i.e. it's getting cold or hot. I was a bit worried about shipping but it arrived intact and I have since moved once and it survived the move so it's somewhat durable.
