La Crosse Technology Weather Channel WS-2310TWC Professional Weather Station Review

I have had this weather station for about 4 weeks. It is working properly and does all the promised functions. Setup and installation were easy the manual covers all the needed points and has some good insights. The included monitoring program works well, but is not too deep and is difficult to modify or reprogram.
Overall I am satisfied with this product and I would recommend it.

Oregon Scientific Cable-Free Long-Range Rain Gauge Review

Oregon Scientific Cable-Free Long-Range Rain Gauge
Average Reviews:

Follow-up to the review below with an added caution: I mounted the collector with the 4 supplied screws to a solid oak block, sealed & painted. About a month into the rainy season it became increasingly inaccurate and finally quit completley. Turns out the wood had swelled and warped, distorting the collector and binding the tipping bucket. In addition to leveling the unit the instructions should caution you to mount it on a flat, dimensionally stable, non warping surface and use extra care while screwing it down to avoid distorting the base.
.......................
Just received the rain gauge from Amazon. The instruction manual is at least as bad as everyone says. It makes no mention of the reset switch in the outdoor unit along with numerous other omissions. On the other hand, looking the unit over, it appears to be very well made. The level of workmanship and quality of the circuit board and wiring in the outdoor unit is much higher than you would expect from a consumer electronic device in this price range. The indoor unit has a nice heft and its switches have a quality feel.
In setting up the outdoor unit, the two screws that hold the collector/funnel assembly are easily lost and probably metric. Be careful! The screws for the battery box cover, on my unit, were "captive". Loosen until you feel them 'bump' on the thread insert and they will stay with the cover. Remove the plastic insulating strip from the battery box, reinstall the batteries and press the "RESET" switch with a straightened paper clip. As larryaol mentioned, it's a good idea to leave the cover open until everything is working.
The indoor unit also has a plastic insulating strip in the battery box that must be removed. That done and the batteries installed, press its "RESET" switch with the paper clip. The upper display should stop flashing once the two units establish contact. Although the manual makes no mention, clearly the radio link isn't continuous. It seems to need up to 30 seconds for the display to update. With the rain collector still open, you can carefully remove the tape that holds the tipping bucket mechanism and manually tip it a couple of times to check operation. Its resolution is 0.04" per tip. Wait about 30 seconds for the rainfall reading to update.
Another serious manual omission is in clearing the rainfall reading. The manual instructs you to "Press and hold the RAIN RESET/SINCE button for 2 seconds" but this doesn't work. Oregon Scientific's call center was helpful. What you need to do is press & release then immediately press & hold. This also loads the current "SINCE" date in the lower display.
Hopefully, someone at Oregon Scientific will do something about the instruction manual.

La Crosse Technology WT-5721U Projection Alarm Clock with Outdoor Temperature Review

La Crosse Technology WT-5721U Projection Alarm Clock with Outdoor Temperature

I purchased this clock to replace a Oregon Scientific model that lasted about 3 years before the projection display broke. The projection display on this model is much better, with a bolder look. It also has selectable brightness settings.
Set-up was a breeze, taking only about 5 minutes and a little reading of the instruction manual. The most useful function I find is the alternate projection display of time and outside temperature. I like knowing what to expect with the weather before I get out of bed.
The reception of the time signal is better than the OS model I had previously, but both kept the time updated.
The only negative thing against this model I have found is the reception of the remote temperature sensor. I located the sensor approximately 30 feet from the base unit. At that location, it picks up a signal about 50% of the time. Compared with other remote thermometers I have, that is about normal and it has to go through two walls.
Overall, based on cost of the unit I have to say it is the best clock in this price range.

Compact Talking Timer & Clock Review

Compact Talking Timer and Clock
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Absolutly the best. Loud voice or just "sounds" alarms. It is so cool. I bought 2. One stays at the computer and one either travels with me, or just a 2nd reminder for the other side of the house. Easily hear over loud music or TV. Guess a third would be nice, but probable just missplaced.....needs a "clapper" finder....LOL
If a over talkative friend calls your cell phone, put on the minutes you want to talk and press start. And then you can say "need to go, the alarm is going off", and no need to tell what alarm. But the voice clearly says time like: 2 minutes left, 1 minute left, and then an every 10 second interval.
That can be annoying or just the ticket!! If time management at home is a problem, this is the greatest. Just set the timer for 30 minutes or what ever, and keep the timer either in pocket, or at desk and it gives you a deadline....and a honking horn plus a voice...LOL. But Very effective.
What is so cool is how versatal it is....clips to anything, stands up, or magnet, and much more high tech cool look than photo.
Cons: None so far

Oregon Scientific BAR338PA ExactSet Projection Clock with Cable-Free Weather Forecaster Review

Oregon Scientific BAR338PA ExactSet Projection Clock with Cable-Free Weather Forecaster

This is one of the best purchases I have made of recent memory. It is one of those gadgets that every person can appreciate. The projection gives you the unique advantage of seeing the time from anywhere in the room. The indiglo is also really cool, if the projection is off. This clock works off batteries (there is an ac adapter for the projector) so it is easy to take with you if you are traveling. I put the outdoor monitor in my window, and I can constantly tell what the temperture and upcoming weather is. The best part is, the clock is tuned into the atomic clock, and is constantly setting itself for accuracy. This little guy is also pretty tough, I have tripped over the cord for the AC adapter twice (I can't tell you how infuriating this is), knocking it hard to my hardwood floor. Its still kicking. I would highly recommend this product to anyone who appreciates a good gadget, I have loved it since I bought it.

With the Oregon Scientific BAR338PA ExactSet Projection Alarm Clock you can keep your pretty little head on the pillow in the morning. Just tap the snooze button & the clock will momentarily project the time on the wall or ceiling in soft red light. You can even rotate the projector forward 90 degrees if needed. And being an ExactSet clock, it automatically sets it's own time, day, & date via the US Atomic Clock in Boulder, Colorado. It automatically connects to the Atomic Clock 6 times a day via it's built-in radio receiver. It even adjusts for Daylight Savings Time & Leap Year.Day-of-week in one of 3 languages -English, French, Spanish Alarm -Crescendo Battery Type -2 AAA
