Here's the dirt:
I was a bit - well *very* - turned off by how the product arrived. Amazon's shipping was fine, but the packaging on the product itself was tattered and scratched. Inside, the bubble wrap sleeve was also torn. In all, it looked like something seasonal you had stored in its original packaging over a period of twenty years. This is no big deal if you plan to open the box and throw it away, but kind of a deal-breaker if you plan to give this as a gift (wow - did you pick this up at an estate sale?).
The frame itself is constructed of beautiful wood, the shiny surface looks great but picks up fingerprints. The glass was dirty/oily and I had to clean it prior to use (something I would not expect from a frame that costs this much). As described, the back of the frame is also wood (great for displaying on a desk). My frame was not free of scratches, although none were major.
There are two black plastic buttons (about the size of a dime) on the lower middle of each side. These are spring loaded and allow you to remove the back to place the pictures. Rather than a nice tongue and groove, the top part of the panel fits into a channel via two heavy duty staples that protrude. These are of course hidden when the frame is assembled, but again I'd expect better from a frame of this price.
In all, I do like the frame, but think I paid too much.
