Howard Miller 620-132 Lancaster Wall Clock Review

I chose this clock as a 10 year gift from my former employer. If I knew I'll have to wind it every week, I'd have chosen something else. Initially, I adjusted the pendulum's swing everyday to try to optimize the accuracy of time. Perhaps the room's fluctuating temperatures affected the clock's mechanics or something but the it was always two or three minutes off after every week. I gave up the adjustments and after a year or so, the clock is now at least five minutes ahead every week. I didn't mind winding the clock every week initially but eventually, it got annoying. If I forget to wind it, it'll die in less than a week. The chime is quite loud and can be disruptive at night, even though the clock is downstairs and I sleep on the second level. The volume cannot be adjusted so I simply shut it off. For whatever reason, shutting off the chime affected the clock at times; the clock would just die even though it was recently wound. All this attention is too much for a clock that's about $650. Besides, the color is dark cherry and doesn't work with my furnishings. I would much prefer a battery operated clock, such as River City's 6023C, that costs much less (usually less than $200) and offers much better features, such as keeping much better time, adjustable chimes and looks just as beautiful.

Brookwood™ Wall Clock Review

Brookwood™ Wall Clock

This is truly a splendid clock! I bought it about 2 years ago, and I am happy with both the sound of it's chime and it's looks. Some assembly is required, as the top has an ornemant that sets easily into a slot, and you must screw three other fixtures into the bottom of the clock once you have it successfully mounted on the wall: Not to worry, as
those go on quite easily, as well.
Although I am wary of recieving such fragile items as clocks in the mail, this one has worked splendidly without a moment's problem.
You do need to use a level to make certain the clock is going to chime right, but these clocks do vary slightly from clock to clock... where one might need to be perfectly level to make the pendulum swing just right and not stop. They might not always need to be perfectly level - I have three Kassel clocks, and one needs to be perfectly level to function properly - the other two won't function perfectly if they are completely level!
Finding that right level for each individual clock is somewhat tedious, but worth it.. I made a small line on the wall for each clock to line up with, and that helps greatly.
The pendulum will need to be adjusted, too, in order to find the right speed for the pendulum to swing, for this is the part of the clock that helps it keep the time.
To adjust it, turn the weight at the bottom.. to the right to speed it up, and to the left to make it slower.
I like the chime very much on this clock.
This clock is a replica of a more famous and prohibitively exspensive antique clock, and you will be quite happy with it's looks and strong, cheerful chime. I know I am! Mine just chimed six o'clock a few minutes ago. I am glad I bought it.. and so will you.

This is a great clock - beautiful and fits well with my decor. The chime is pretty nice, not a cheap, tinny sound. Instructions were not clear on set-up. Took me a long time to get it set so that it would actually chime - went through the routine many times. Now that it does chime consistently, I love it! Good features are volume control and automatic night-time shut-off

Even though I love key-wound clocks, I wanted a quartz because it has volume control. I wasn't expecting the chimes to sound so real! It's actually kind of hard to tell the difference, the tones are that organic and have the same dissonant harmony, especially with the Westminster carol. Really beautiful case too, although I wish it was a little more modern and came in a darker finish.

River City Clocks Chiming Regulator Wall Clock with Swinging Pendulum and Oak Finish - 24 Inches Tall - Model # 6023O

The pendulum wall clock is a beautiful addition to my livingroom. The design and finish are stunning. The construction is solid. It truly adds a rich elegance to the room. It has a night silence feature which is nice, but since the volume of the chimes is adjustable, I have chosen to have it ring at the same level all day.
Only two things for me that brings this down from a 5 rating.
1 The clock does not tick. I was hoping for the gentle "tick tocking" I would expect a clock like this to have
2 The chime lacks a deep bell tone. The Westminster chime is beautiful, don't misunderstand, but sometimes it sounds just a bit electronic (which it is) rather than the sound of a true chime.

Bulova Collins Majestic Triple Chime Key-Wound Clock Review

I give Bulova a standing ovation! This is an extraordinary timepiece of fine quality. I'm pleased to say the clock far exceeded my expectations! The movement is a 5-Jewel, Keininger which operates precisely by a balance wheel. The triple chimes is the crown jewel of this clock! The craftmanship is superb to say the least...being able to see the movement and the chimes play is an added bonus. This clock tells a lot more than merely the time -- this is a showpiece of museum quality, in my opinion. I'm a lifetime collector of only the finest mechanical clocks, and now very proud to have a BULOVA of this quality among my collection! The clock was well packaged and delivered in the time promised.

Seiko Wall Curio Cabinet Clock Dark Brown Solid Oak Case Review

Seiko Wall Curio Cabinet Clock Dark Brown Solid Oak Case

This is a nicely constructed cabinet with fine details .. worth the price.
The downside is the chimes start out clear and sharp and degrade over time (less than a week) so that it sounds like a dying battery. The battery is fine, it just seems to lose energy during the day. I'm surprised that Seiko did not figure this out before they started shipping this item.
With the exception of the chime issue, it's a very nice piece.

I just got this clock and just WOW, is it beautiful. The wood and craftmanship is georgous and the chimes are really cool to be able to switch between the two. I already have several clocks with the Westminster melody so I really love the change of the Whittington melody. You can switch the button to have it not go off during the night or vise/versa day if you sleep during the day. There is also a volume switch to have it as loud or soft as you want. I am looking forward to having this for years to come. One I will always cherish.
