(More customer reviews)This timer is cute and lightweight (too light!) and mine did work, but it has TWO major design flaws which make it completely useless.
First of all, look at the picture. See that big circle under the LCD screen? That's the START/STOP button. It's HUGE and VERY sensitive, which means if you wear it around your neck, any time you lean over or bump anything the timer will start or stop! At times I accidentally brushed against it LIGHTLY with my arm and it stopped. How much can you trust a timer that starts and stops on its own?! What good is it?
Now, since it has a clip on the back, you could clip it onto your clothing, except for the SECOND design flaw. The clip is upside-down! If you clip it on yourself, the timer is right-side-up for the rest of the world, but when you try to look at it, it's upside-down. (Get my drift? Think of those clip-on watches...)
I'd also like to comment on the Amazon reviewer's claim that the timer is loud enough to be heard in a gym. It would have to be a mighty quiet gym....
All in all, you'd do better to shop elsewhere for your timer. In fact, after trying different ones, I would suggest buying it locally where you can really see what you're getting--and where you won't have to pay for return shipping.

(More customer reviews)Used it for a 5K run. The clock was very easy to read in the bright sunlight. We will be mounting it above the finish line next year so it's easier for runners to see as they cross the line. Kind of complicated to get it set to start timing, the instructions are good, but have to be followed carefully. Don't lose them. Very good clock for half the price of most of the other ones we found. Numbers are two inches tall which seems small but can be seen just fine from 15 feet away. We ran an extension cord from a building to where we had the clock set up.

We wanted a clock that would be easy to use, easy to see, have a pleasant sound that was loud enough for a person to hear, and the alarm feature had to remain on day after day.
This clock has everything we were looking for---and more. The clock itself is very easy to see. The alarm feature has a pleasant female voice who repeats her reminder to take your medication until you turn it off. This clock has the ability to have four reminders in a day. If you only need two reminders, you can turn the other two off. You can set the reminder for whatever time works for your particular schedule. This clock also helps an elderly person maintain their independence a little longer.
You need to buy this talking alarm clock if you are having a stressful time with your aging parent bristling at your reminder phone calls. After all, it's no longer YOUR voice telling her it's time to take her meds. If you find yourself waiting for a call---that often doesn't come---from your loved one that she has indeed taken her medications, you need to get free of that hassle and buy this talking alarm clock. We couldn't be happier with how this little clock has solved so many problems.
