(More customer reviews)This timer is perfect for classrooms. It is easy to set, and has magnetic bottoms that allow you to stick it to a desk or a magnetic chalkboard/white board. Because it changes colors students can see when time is nearly up for an activity even if they cannot read the numbers from the back of the room.
It has a fairly large display. It is also loud enough to be heard even in the loudest classrooms, (like when you are playing review games.)
I teach high school math and I use mine all the time! I even use it for state testing. I would recommend this to any teacher, but I think it would really shine in an Elementary setting.
I like it so much I even bring it home sometimes because it is louder than my stove or microwave timer, and I can stick it almost anywhere.
The buttons are exposed and easily pressed. This might not be the timer for you if you are looking for something that won't go off in a backpack or briefcase.
It also starts counting up after time runs out so you can see how long it has been ringing. Very nice for cooking when you are also working outside or catch the alarm after it's been going off for a while.
Super product.

(More customer reviews)I absolutely love this clock. how ever there are some weak points in the design. the plastic used for the ear ear stalks is very brittle. when mine came it was broken off. however a little super glue remedied this issue. other that that, it is terrific. the clock has a photo sensor so when you turn off the lights, the Dalek lights up. (only for about 10 seconds max). but it makes me happy every time i get ready for bed and it comes to life.

(More customer reviews)I bought this clock for a retro-themed room I recently redecorated. While the clock is super cute, it doesn't work very well. The tail and eyes stop moving ALL THE TIME. I can flick the tail and they will start again, but only work for about 5 minutes before they stop again. The clock actually runs fine, but the lack of movement is disappointing. I have tried all the suggestions (tightening the little screw inside), but nothing works for long. If you are buying this clock, chances are good that you are mainly buying it because of what it is. If that's the case, then you are making a good purchase...as long as you don't care that the tail and eyes won't always move. Also, this clock is a lot smaller than I expected. Luckily the room I bought the clock for is small, so the size is not too noticable. The clock itself is very cute (a little creepy at times, but still cute), and I would have rated it higher had the tail and eyes worked like they are supposed to.

(More customer reviews)After spending quite a long time shopping on-line and in the stores (I returned two travel clocks after getting them home), I purchased this travel clock. It is very inexpensive, extremely easy to use (no manual necessary), and works very well. The alarm is neither too loud nor too soft, it doesn't collapse when open (like two other travel alarms I purchased), it's made of lightweight plastic (reasonably durable--very sturdy compared to some three times the price), has an unlimited 4-minute snooze feature, and lights up when the snooze button is depressed. It would have been nice if the numbers stayed lit at night and the lighting feature is EXTREMELY dim, at best. Nevertheless, it is very lightweight and measures only 3-1/2" x 2-1/2" x 1/2"--can fit anywhere, even in a pocket. The only other possible downside is that it uses a 1.5V button battery instead of a standard AA or AAA. Nevertheless, I like it enough to use it at night in place of the abrasively loud alarm clock I previously used, which my kids have nightmares about.
