(More customer reviews)Unlike previous reviewer, I use this only as a bedside clock, not as an alarm clock, so I cannot vouch for its capability to wake you up in the morning...
What I really love about it, is the fact, that it stays dark, so it does not create any extra light in the room, and it could be temporarily illuminated by just tipping it backward.
The display is large enough, so you do not have to fumble around and squint your eyes trying to read it, and it has a thermometer as well, which I find very useful to get an idea about the indoor temperature.
Do save the instructions to be able to switch back and forth between the daylight savings time, as the setting is not very intuitive... other than that, for the price, I find this clock to be very practical, useful and quite attractive looking on top of that. I actually bought two of them for myself (bedroom and living room) and another one for a friend.

Oregon Scientific RM323A Atomic Travel Clock with World Time Review

(More customer reviews)Sorry to say it, as I've liked Oregon Scientific products in the past, but this is a junker. Two chief problems. First is that it doesn't know how to switch over to daylight savings time correctly. I understand that the switch-over dates were changed this year, but this is the more recent model clock, and the older RM826A has no trouble this year. I got up an hour late on that first daylight savings time Sunday in March. Sadly, even if you manually set the RM323A to the correct time, it will reset overnight to the wrong time. The only way to fix this (per Oregon Scientific's web site) is to turn off the radio connection to the atomic clock, thereby defeating the reason for owning this clock in the first place. (In fairness, O-S says that it will work fine after April 1, but what about future years when the dates change around? My guess is same problem.) The second problem is that it's very difficult to use, including such basic stuff as setting an alarm. Granted, Oregon Scientific clocks don't have a lot of buttons, so it has to be a little complicated to handle all of the functions. But this particular clock has both a "single alarm" and a "weekly alarm" that goes off every day at the same time, and selecting which one, setting the alarm time, and even just turning on and off the alarm is anything but obvious.
I suppose the world time capability could be useful for some folks, but I find this clock worse in every respect than the RM826A, which is no longer manufactured. I'm going to toss this one in the trash and find a couple of RM826A's before they're no longer available. Oregon Scientific has no more in stock as of a couple of days ago.

Fulcrum Global Radio Control Travel Alarm Review

(More customer reviews)The time on this clock is automatically refreshed daily. I have used the unit in Italy. The time continually alternates between European time and British time (one hour difference). Even if I manually set the time, the refresh feature cannot be disabled. I have experimented with different locations in the house, but I can't resolve the problem. I cannot trust this clock as an alarm clock (I did once, and while the clock was correct when I went to sleep, it had gotten out of kilter by morning). It's a great idea, but it doesn't work.

(More customer reviews)I've been selling travel alarms for 22 years. The turn-bezel world alarm clocks are simply the easiest to use. (And they are harder to find than when they were at their selling heyday in the mid-90s).
After looking around I bought this one. I do like the hourly chime - and the ease of use - and it's a loud but not shrill alarm. For the very hard of hearing it may not do.
The display is easy to see, but nothing special. Really - it's the ease of use for multi-time zone travel.

#6026 MetBLU Travel Alarm Clock Review

(More customer reviews)This clock is simple. It tells the time, has an alarm, a 4 min. snooze and a light which suffices. All I wanted was a basic clock that I could fold up and take with me places that is fairly sturdy and this is it. The minute I took it out of the box I set the time then dropped it on the floor from different heights numerous times and tilted it around to see if the time/display would be affected. It wasn't, this clock keeps the time if you drop it or it falls, I've had it for about a month and it has only gained one minute, which actually helps me because I get out the door and to class with that little extra. The alarm itself is somewhat quiet, which I thought at first would be a problem, but it hasn't failed yet to wake me up every morning during the first stage of it's going off. And it doesn't have that typical, extremely obnoxious "WAH! WAH!" alarm, which I can't stand and actually makes me wake up frightened, this one's just fast beeping that gets louder and faster as it goes, seems to wake me up and I haven't yet gotten used to it to where it isn't effective. The back-light is a little lame (I was used to the neat blue bright lights), from what I can tell it's just two small bulbs or something behind the display, but this does not make the time hard to see in the dark. It makes the display somewhat transluscent and you can see the numbers perfectly fine in the pitch black, the absence of an annoying blue light just takes a day or two to get used to. I'm actually really happy with this clock, as happy as you can be with a simple clock. It would be nice if it had a 24-hr. option, but that's just my preference. All in all, it's only 9-10 dollars, it's sturdy and the display doesn't crap out when it drops or tilts, the display is large enough to see from across a small room like a bedroom, the buttons don't feel like they'll fall off or pop out in a month or two, and it has worked well for me. If you're jsut looking for something basic that will get you up in the morning and tell you the time when you need it, I'd suggest this one (I purchased several others by timex and other companies in the same price range, 10-15 dollars and they were all extremely crappy, one had a display that actually wavered so bad you couldn't read the time when you tilted it at all in any direction other than upright. This one was definitely the best, hopefully it lasts a few years.) I gave it three stars not because it's a bad clock, just because it's basic. Good value though.

(More customer reviews)I like using nap timer/alarm clocks because they are not electric. Also, you can set your own snooze time instead of the automatic times set for most alarm clocks. I have had Timex nap timers that are wonderful; however, I can no longer find them anywhere. I ended up seeing the Elgin nap timer and thought that I would give it a try. What I do like about the nap timer function is that when you set the amount of time you want to nap (I also use it when I do laundry) you can push the nap timer function and see how much time is left. What I don't like about it is the tiny "slide control" of the Snooze, Alarm On and Alarm Off. You need a strong fingernail to manuver it and you can forget about manuvering it with your fingertip. The "slide control" to set the alarm time, calendar or lock the times in place is the same, but their function can be set and left alone, for the most part. Another thing that I particularily did not like was that the shipping cost was 43% of the total cost of the product. That is a bit steep.

(More customer reviews)I've had this little clock for quite some time; despite the fact that most hotel rooms come with clocks, I prefer my travel alarm.
1. It's analog and easy to set.
2. The alarm is pleasant, and the button on top is easy to find when one is groping around in the dark.
3. The clock is barely the size of half a pack of cigarettes and only slightly thicker.
4. It only takes one AA battery and is sparing of the power; the battery lasts a long time.
5. It is so reasonably priced that I can throw one in each of my suitcases; the overnight bag and the one I take for a week or two.
6. It's actually nice enough to make a desk clock, especially if you have a small desk.
This is a wonderful little present for anyone who travels. Or if you travel, it's a must-have.

The units are sent with the batteries installed and active (for who knows how long) and thus we could not read the screen on the first one we received. Not knowing if it was the battery or other problems, I sought a replacement. The Company, Weatherbuffs, was outstanding and arranged for a replacement immediately and conveniently. Unfortunately, when the second Bulova arrived directly from Bulova, it didn't work at all! I checked the battery and it was fully charged and yet nothing would work.
Again, Weatherbuffs was super and refunded our money immediately. I am very satisfied with Weatherbuffs - excellent customer service. It was the Bulova Travel Alarm that failed me - twice!

First, it is very lightweight and incredibly easy to knock over when you reach over to turn off the alarm in the morning. It has a button to light the background so you can read the time, but when you try to read it, the numbers disappear. The snooze function only gives you 4 minutes, without the ability to change the setting. I think this would be fine as a temporary fix or for travelling, but only if the price was a lot lower.
