I was past the return period from the store where I bought it so I contacted Nanda for warranty service. And I contacted Nanda again. And I contacted Nanda again. I emailed them. I called them on the phone. I even wrote a letter (a real honest to goodness letter - you know, with a stamp). Every time I spoke to someone, they said they would have to get back in touch with me, but they never did. Always apologetic, but never solving the problem. It's too bad. They obviously are a small company and I was rooting for them. They don't seem to be run very well. Nanda, if you're listening, it's and I would still like a working Clocky. Nanda's customer support is awful. It's hard to recommend Clocky for this reason.

It's main feature is the sound of a V8 Corvette engine starting up and driving away for an alarm. I wouldn't use it for "waking up" to, as the alarm isn't all that loud. We've only had it for a few days, but so far it's been keeping time accurately. Nice addition to all of our Corvette collectibles in the house.

Attempts to return the defective clock was nearly impossible and cost to return it would only double the shipping cost well over the value of the clock. (More customer reviews)This product lives up to its billing. I have had other alarm clocks that claimed to use a 120 decibel alarm, but they only seemed a third as loud as this. When this thing went off the first morning I used it, it just about blew me out of bed, and all I could think was "make it stop! make it stop!" It sounds like about 4 home fire alarms going off at once except much louder and much more painful.
It's Sunday evening and I'll set the dang thing again, but for 15 minutes after my regular alarm goes off. I think I'll get up quickly to shut off the Meanie before it sounds--I really don't want to hear it ever again.

(More customer reviews)The Westclox "Bell Ringer II" alarm clock is an excellent value alarm clock that really offers you a lot. The clock is easy to use and it lasts years.
Although the clock may feel or look cheaply made, don't let that fool you. It's both reliable and easy to operate. For example, all you need to do to "snooze" for another five minutes is push on that button and temporarily end that infernal racket that just made oh, so sure that you're awake! The numbers on the clock are easy to read and there is even a hand to mark the seconds. The alarm with its bell sound is neat; what a cool throwback feature to the days of alarm clocks that had to be wound up every night! I like that "retro" touch.
The hands have "glow-in-the-dark" features but in the dark they you may have to move closer to the clock to see them--they are visible in the dark but the hands are definitely not as bright as they could have been. Oh, well.
The clock runs on one C size battery--that's easy enough by me! Make sure to change the battery as frequently as every two or three months to make absolutely certain that the clock will run accurately. In addition, the clock is rather compact which makes it an ideal choice for people on the go or vacationing away from home.
Overall, for this price range you get a basic but reliable and long-lasting alarm clock by Westclox. I highly recommend this clock.

My daughter placed the vibrator under his pillow and the clock high on the wall where he had to get out of bed to turn it off. The numbers are big enough to read from across the room, and he hasn't been late to school since!
Although he has several alarm clocks, he could sleep through all of them, so I used to call him on the phone to wake him up. Sometimes it took several calls to accomplish this, because he could sleep through a ringing phone, too!
He doesn't sleep through the Wake Assure, though.
It's a good clock. I recommend it to anyone who has trouble waking up to an ordinary alarm clock.

(More customer reviews)I love this clock! Of course it takes some getting used to as you have to wind it up almost every day. You also have to wind up the alarm. It is easy to set the time but I have found it very difficult to set the alarm. Maybe because it is still so new. It is neat because on the back at the bottom there is a little metal tab inside the casing that you can see through this slit. There is lines on the left and right above this slit and tab and a large line in the middle. I was wondering what in the world it was when it hit me! When I was a little girl my mom had a clock like this and that was the way that you adjusted it, if it was going to fast you moved the tab back a bit, if it was going to slow then you moved it forward a bit. Hopefully most of the time you can just leave it in the middle and forget about it. I think everyone should own one of these clocks. With all the work involved you truly appreciate it and when the alarm goes off in the morning you WILL wake up, believe me! It is turned off in an old fashioned way as well. Look just buy this clock, it is not that much money and you will absolutely love it, not to mention that it is actually becoming trendy to own this type of clocks again.

The alarm was definitely not "Mega Sound" and was a poor choice. I ordered a sonic boom which is about 10 times louder than this alarm. No where was there an indication that I was buying anything other than a brand new unit.

We have a problem getting everyone going in the morning, and we decided this would be a good way to get them to start being more responsible for getting themselves up. Problem is all 3 do not like using the clock because it is sooo loud. The alarm sound is more like a "robot" noise than an alarm, and, believe, me, it wakes you up, but it really jangles your nerves. Our bedrooms are all in the upstairs portion of the house, and when 1 alarm goes off, everyone wakes up (us included).
My youngest child is 6 and she really hates it because it sounds like our fire alarm. She came out of her room shaking the first time it went off - and it was the one in her sister's room. She said "please don't make that alarm go off anymore!" She does not want to use it.
Ten year old son won't get up and turn it off. He just let's it keep running (he's awake but won't turn it off, so we all sit and listen to it).
13 YO daughter won't use it - says it is too jarring to wake up to.
So, we have these very tough alarms that no one is using.
The buttons on the alarms are a little funky to use to set the alarm but it gets the job done. You can turn off the wheels if you want and just have the alarm part. This is convenient.
Bottom line - it does what it says but it is best suited for an adult that lives alone and has trouble getting up. Maybe a guy in his late teens or early 20s partying too late and needing to get up for work.

(More customer reviews)I have been a terrible person to wake up all my life and usually get used to the sound of an alarm clock and just don't hear after a while. I do like this clock a lot because it runs away from you and you have to get up to get but I wish it would stay on the move for a longer time period. It often doesn't get that far away from your bed and I am someone that can fall back asleep with in seconds so it would work better if I had to walk farther. The only other thing that I didn't care much for was that it was kind of tricky setting the length of time for the snooze setting. You can set it from 1 to 9 minutes. It took me a few minutes to be able to get to this menu. Other than that initial problem, I really feel this is the greatest alarm clock that I have owned. I wish it was a little lounder. Once again, I am a very heavy sleeper and I really don't think there is a perfect clock out there for me but this is the closest I have found.

(More customer reviews)What was once a lost cause has now turned into self-discipline and little nagging from parents. This alarm clock uses a variety of methods that change until it is turned off. There are a variety of buzzer sounds, lights flash, and the ingenious mattress jiggler that all combine to get our son out of bed on his own most of the time. We still do a run-by to see if has ignored it, since we are so used to having to shake him to wake him. We have been pleasantly surprised to see such an improvement!! I think the other half of the equation is his desire to wake up, and we're still working on that, but at least he hears and feels this one!!

The problem is that the area in which you're supposed to place the propeller is too fragile. If you don't press down, the alarm doesn't shut off, and if you press too hard (too hard being moderate pressure; I do not have concrete hands), the parts that spin the propeller break.
