(More customer reviews)I was replacing this same model purchased about 5 years ago. This model is ultra sensitive, and the alarm turns off if you hit anywhere on the right side of the touch screen. Alarm is of a good pitch and volume, snooze twice allowed for additional 20 minutes. Great for travel and areas with extreme weather during black outs. Screen easy to read, lights up when touched.

(More customer reviews)I wanted a desk clock that would display time from different time zones and this clock fits the bill! It is good if you have love ones serving abroad or if you travel overseas a lot. It has a pretty good database including Kabul, Afghanistan which is an additional 10 hours and 30 minutes ahead of CST. It can sync with the major radio sync or "atomic clocks" around the world. Setting both zones it will take some time to get used. The main time is easy to read as is the temperature. The second time zone is a little smaller but will do. It is pretty compact and can be used as a travel clock. I've had this for a couple of weeks now and I've been happy with the product.

(More customer reviews)My husband and I really enjoyed this clock. Why we don't have it anymore has nothing to do with how it performed. It was a great clock. We liked how the numbers were large. That LED light makes it soothing to look at as well. No bright red, yellow or green lights. Just a nice blue(and there is a dimmer switch on it if it is too bright for you). It's taller than it is long which makes it a nice space saver. We also had quite a few storms last year, and if your power goes out and comes back on later (even after 2 days like what happened to us, the right time WILL show up again) And as an added bonus, the alarm still goes off on time if it is plugged in and the power is out (so long as you put a battery in it of course :D ). About that snooze button. We had no problems with that either. If you set the clock away from where you sleep, so you have to get up to turn it off, then you will actually look to see where the snooze/radio buttons are. Of course you're going to hit another button if you just reach over the bed, eyes half shut, and slap the thing. We had no problem finding the buttons with our eyes wide open. One more compliment has to be that we didn't find the buzzer annoying either. It was actually pleasant compared to every other one we tried out in the store. Go ahead, try them out. You'll see what we mean. It's more of a beep than a BUZZ! Which was really nice. Me personally I have to have the buzzer on. Otherwise I will fall back asleep to the music, and the one thing I can't stand to hear when I first wake up in the morning, is a loud BUZZ sound. Praise God, they made one that BEEPS for a change. (More customer reviews)My daughters have Sony Walkman mp3 players, and I was looking for a clock/charger for them. This was priced well and fit both purposes. I was hoping for an "iHome" type of set-up for them- one where they could easily place the mp3 player on the top of the device directly into a charging cradle, but that is not how this works. Most devices will need to plug in with their own unique charger via a usb connection in the side of this devise. The clock setting function is strange. The sound is ok. If you want to play music from the mp3- there is a "line-in" wire to transfer music from the headphone jack to the radio. It is a little cumbersome. For the money and for my pre-teens it was fine.

(More customer reviews)I rated this 2/5 for one simple reason: The LED display is so bright that I literally have a blue glow in my bedroom, and that's when I have the dimmer turned to the lower setting. With it in the high setting, I see shadows in the room. It's crazy. Other than that, the sound quality of the radio is pretty flat.

(More customer reviews)This is the best alarm clock I've ever had, except for one thing. No battery backup. I suppose I could plug it into one of my UPSs to alleviate that problem, but I was surprised at how quickly it lost its memory after power loss. It would also be nice if it had a digital tuner, but that isn't a big deal to me since I don't use it for readio much. If I did use it for radio a lot, it would drive me nuts manually tuning to stations.
I love the snooze feature where you can keep tapping it to change when the next alarm will be. The ideal alarm clock would be similar to this one, with a battery backup, and a digital tuner. Oh yeah, it sounds pretty good too. I have it set play a nature sounds CD when I wake up. When it plays the morning birds I sometimes confuse the recording for the real birds outside my window, and vice versa. I'm not saying these are excellent speakers, but they definitely sound good for an alarm clock. Oh, and it looks pretty stylish to most of the other boxy CD alarm clocks out there.
In short, a very good alarm clock, but plug it into a UPS if you want to be sure you won't be late for work because of a power outtage in the middle of the night.

(More customer reviews)...The color is very nice, but it is definitely a lot lighter than in the picture. I would have preferred that the snooze button was either larger or a different shape than the other buttons to make it easier to find while I was still "half asleep." The nature sounds are a good way of adding variety to your alarm...but after some time they would get tiring because they don't sound extremely natural. The display can be somewhat difficult to read at certain angles since the numbers are facing you at a slanted angle. The quality of the radio feature is decent, but don't expect anything spectacular. This alarm clock does the job for me...I have woken up each time the alarm went off. This alarm is loud enough for most people, but, if you are the type who needs an extremely loud alarm to wake up, it would be best to look elsewhere.

(More customer reviews)I bought this because I loved the design. However, when I actually got it I was surprised at how small it was. It could fit in the palm of my hand. I was hoping it would have been a little bigger and more solid. It felt light and cheap. As for functionality it doesn't stay backlit. You have to push a button to turn the backlight on rendering it impossible to see what time it is in the middle of the night. Since I was planning to use it as my alarm clock on my nightstand, it wasn't going to work. I returned it the same day I got it.

It's durable (I've dropped it several times down several flights of stairs, but it's still here and working) and performs as advertised. One minor complaint though. The radio doesn't go very loud without distortion. But who would want to crank an alarm clock radio up anyways??? Overall, this is a great product.

(More customer reviews)Overall, we're happy with our purchase with one complaint. I wanted a clock radio with a weatherband, but it has nowhere that I can find to put batteries so it's worthless in event of power outage (which usually happens during a storm when I need the weatherband the most!).
We use it in the bathroom for a clock and to listen to the radio in the morning, so I can't comment on the alarm features. It's a little dim at night, but that might be desirable if it's by your bed.
I do like the daylight savings time feature and the preset buttons. It's also a very attractive clock and radio reception has been very good (with occasional adjustments to the antenna).

Emerson CKS3029 - Clock radio Review

(More customer reviews)Living in hurricane territory, I definitely wanted some clocks that would function with or without the help of Florida Light and Power and that I would not have to reset whenever I experience a momentary loss of power. Three Emerson Smartsets made us a very happy household for almost two years now, until this morning. I went over to Brookstone where I know they sell these clocks to complain that my clock did not Spring forward. They handed me a sheet explaining how to manually update my clock (something I will need to do 4 times a year for my clocks purchased pre Marc 2006). Here's how you do it for anyone frustrated as I was:
1. On the second Sunday in March, set your clock to the next lowest number time zone (for example, if you live in the Eastern Time zone, Zone 02, you will change your clock to Zone 01 to move it ahead by one hour)
2. On the first Sunday in April, when the clock will automatically advance itself by one hour for whatever time zone you are in. You will then need to set the clock back to your correct time zone (Zone 02 if you are in the Eastern time Zone)
3. On the last Sunday in October, you would again set your clock to the next lower numbered time zone (Zone 01 if you are in the Eastern time zone). Your clock was not originally set to change times on this date.
4. On the first Sunday in November, the date your clock has been preprogrammed to fall back, you would again set your clock back to your correct time zone (Zone 02 if you are in the Eastern time zone).
Really this is a circumstance beyond Emerson's control, but I am starting to think that what Emerson needs to do is bring this smartset technology to an actual Atomic clock and then the government can change daylight savings time start and end dates as many times as they want, without Emerson consumers ever experiencing any problems. Until then, I hope this has helped someone who like me scoured the Internet for information on how to change the time on these not-so-smartsets after all.

LED Digital Clock Kit With Case Review

They did short change us one L.E.D that was easily found at Digi Key. As far as the clock goes the procedure on adjusting the time is not clear so changing it is a pain in the neck. All in all it was fun for my son to do. If you have someone who is just getting into electronics it is a good buy.

(More customer reviews)I was really disappointed after i got this alarm clock. It worked fine for a few days, although the sound qaulity was rather disappointing. Then everything just fell apart...the cd player stopped working first, playing tracks only when it felt like it. The alarm would go off sporadically and was very unreliable; it seemed like whenever i needed to wake up the most it never rang. I've since returned the item. An alarm clock that picks and chooses when to wake me up isn't my idea of a great product.
