I love the Big Beautiful Blue Display on this Clock Radio. I can easily read it from across the room. I bought it mainly for use as a bedroom clock. As a clock, I would give it 5 stars.
The Radio part is a different story. The controls are very crude, and have a cheap feel to them. Tuning in stations is a pain. The sound quality is like what I would expect from something this size, just okay. For me, this is a radio that I have tuned to a local station, and it will likely stay that way. I don't intend to use the radio much, except maybe as an alarm clock. As a Radio, I would give it 1 to 2 stars. Not too bad if you always keep it on the same station.
If you are looking for a Nice Clock with a Big Time Display, and don't care much about the radio, I would Recommend this item.

(More customer reviews)I hesitated to get this clock after reading another reviewer's comment about it being cheap and lots of glare. But I took my chance because I like the look of the clock. I was NOT dissappointed.
It's a nice lcd clock. Something different and it looks good on my office desk. The radio signal works very well from my location in Southern California. Just do the initial setup and the clock will do the rest after it received the radio signal. The lcd is easy to see and I did not experience any glare even with my desk light on. It's a good buy for me and I'm happy with it.

A unique pendulum design radio controlled clock. The clock sets and adjusts the time, day & date automatically from the radio signal broadcasted by the NIST Radio Station WWVB located near Fort Collins, Colorado. (The signal can be received up to 2000 miles away from the station. The station receives the time data from the NIST Atomic Clock in Boulder, Colorado). The clock has dual alarms with snooze. (More customer reviews)My husband and I really enjoyed this clock. Why we don't have it anymore has nothing to do with how it performed. It was a great clock. We liked how the numbers were large. That LED light makes it soothing to look at as well. No bright red, yellow or green lights. Just a nice blue(and there is a dimmer switch on it if it is too bright for you). It's taller than it is long which makes it a nice space saver. We also had quite a few storms last year, and if your power goes out and comes back on later (even after 2 days like what happened to us, the right time WILL show up again) And as an added bonus, the alarm still goes off on time if it is plugged in and the power is out (so long as you put a battery in it of course :D ). About that snooze button. We had no problems with that either. If you set the clock away from where you sleep, so you have to get up to turn it off, then you will actually look to see where the snooze/radio buttons are. Of course you're going to hit another button if you just reach over the bed, eyes half shut, and slap the thing. We had no problem finding the buttons with our eyes wide open. One more compliment has to be that we didn't find the buzzer annoying either. It was actually pleasant compared to every other one we tried out in the store. Go ahead, try them out. You'll see what we mean. It's more of a beep than a BUZZ! Which was really nice. Me personally I have to have the buzzer on. Otherwise I will fall back asleep to the music, and the one thing I can't stand to hear when I first wake up in the morning, is a loud BUZZ sound. Praise God, they made one that BEEPS for a change. It's durable (I've dropped it several times down several flights of stairs, but it's still here and working) and performs as advertised. One minor complaint though. The radio doesn't go very loud without distortion. But who would want to crank an alarm clock radio up anyways??? Overall, this is a great product.

They did short change us one L.E.D that was easily found at Digi Key. As far as the clock goes the procedure on adjusting the time is not clear so changing it is a pain in the neck. All in all it was fun for my son to do. If you have someone who is just getting into electronics it is a good buy.

(More customer reviews)You won't have to worry about waking up on time because you'll never get to sleep; the LED display is so bright on low setting that it illuminates the whole room to the point it seems an alien abduction is in progress. All other aspects of this unit are fine, with the exception that you still have to reset the clock after unplugging/power failure, even with a 9V installed. Why, oh why can't Sony make one of their excellent basic models with a blue LED display??

(More customer reviews)I love how this clock looks, I love that if I tap the top, I get a glowy blue nightlight, I love the nap button, programmable from 20 minutes to 2 hours, I love the ease of use with the buttons placement, it even has good reception for the radio.
I hate that I bought it at the beginning of April 06 and by August half the lines that made up the numbers on the face no longer worked. It is impossible to read the clock anymore. I hate that when I went to the point of sale, they no longer carry it, and when I went to RCA, they no longer even show it on their site.

However it is advertised on their website as having a "display dimmer", which it does not seem to have, and they have not answered my emails on this subject. It is extremely bright, so is OK in the daytime, but is overly bright at night. I had to open it (4 outer screws and 4 inner periphery screws) and insert a neutral density filter inside the bezel to decrease the brightness. The 30037 is a clever design that uses miniature LEDs to reflect light into the display segment bars, which provides adequate but not total uniformity in the segment light distribution. The unit requires 1 AA battery if you desire backup power.

Funny how it is suppose to be solar powered but won't work without battery, right now I am not even sure if it will work if I take the battery out...
I have it installed fairly high so more people can read it, unfortunately it means it gets less light thus lighter digit due to weak power. Once you leave for the weekend and shut off the lights in the room, the digit disappears.

The clock has a large, easy to read face with a subtle light, which means no struggle to read the time when you're waking up, and no intrusion when you're trying to fall sleep. It includes an adjustable backlight, an AUX jack for your MP3 players, and 2 awesome settings: NAP, which lets you set a quick nap time - up to about 90 minutes I believe - without having to change the actual alarm time, plus a SLEEP setting to listen to your radio and have it turn off automatically when you pass out.
Radio reception for me is great, and the clock includes a mini display to the right that shows the preset alarm time when the alarm is turned on. I love this, since I know, as long as I see a time there, I know it is on. Otherwise, it says OFF. Way handy compared to other clocks which have you hit Snooze or some other button to confirm the alarm time.
Great clock overall! A+

(More customer reviews)While battling an urge to buy a Hello Kitty Alarm Clock I saw this one. I think I'm too old for Hello Kitty and this seemed like a compromise. I only got it because it is pink and cute. True, it is basic in the sense that you can't plug an i-pod into it or have soothing nature noise. I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked. It is easy to program/set, the radio sound quality is pretty good, the design is sturdy, I have yet to knock it off the bedside table in a fumble for the off button in the morning. Every time I look at it I giggle because it's pink and swirly but under the cuteness ticks(sort of)a quality alarm clock.

Pick Your Color LCD Alarm Clock Review

(More customer reviews)This clock is everything I was looking for (well, almost - it would be nice if it was atomic as well). It is small and slim, barely takes any space by the bed). The display is large enough to be seen from across the room. Very simple with one alarm (which I rarely would use). It is easy to set (the only drawback is that the numbers only go one way but there is a separate set for hour and minute so it makes it easier). It displays in 12/24 hour mode which is really nice and you can see the seconds going by (which to me is a BIG plus). The colors are very nice (yes, I like to play with this feature) and they set like a puzzle - there are three little buttons that you push in various ways and they determine the color of the display). At night, it is not too bright and you can see the display easily. The date and day feature is helpful as well. Have you ever woken up on a Saturday or Sunday thinking it's a work day? One look at the clock and you won't be confused anymore :) Overall, I am very pleased with this clock and would recommend it for someone who likes simplicity.
