(More customer reviews)I got this shower radio because I wanted to be able to listen to the songs on my MP3 while I was in the shower. The transmitter thing works, just not very well. the box says the transmitter can work "up yo 100 ft" from the radio, but I found it works best when it's less than 1 ft away. I had to put the transmitter and my MP3 in a ziploc bag and tape it to my shower wall to be able to hear my music with no static. not a pretty solution. In adition, when your using the MP3 feature, the bass sounds really bad. Otherwise, sound quality was ok. The radio works perfectly though, and is easy to use.

(More customer reviews)This is a great product. The sound is surprisingly good for the size and having the remote to control the ipod is very useful, since you can't from the base. Only sound, power, and light on/off control is on the lamp itself. The bass enhancement is a one-press button that does very little, but that's to be expected from a unit this small.(5watts total output) The base support is solid unlike the cheaper iHL10, but it came out of the box a little loose, so I had to tighten the large flathead screw to keep the shaft in the position I preferred. (problem easily solved) Plus, you can also adjust the head to point in any position as well. The halogen bulb shines bright & much better than my traditional lamp.
Lowes had these on clearance with their XMAS items, so I picked it up for $25.00 new! Frankly, I think it's too spendy at $100+ for what you get. With all of its coolness, full controls on the base would have been nice along with a spot to stash the controller, and because of the high street price I'm giving it 4 stars.

XtremeMac Luna Voyager for iPhone/iPod - Black Review

(More customer reviews)I bought this unit for my son for Christmas for use with his Ipod Nano 5G. According to the Apple website, these two products are compatible. However, when my 10-year old plugged it in with much excitement on Christmas morning, the unit did not work. After multiple attempts to call XtremeMac (aka Memorex), their phone lines were too busy to put my call in the queue, and I had to keep calling back. This was my first clue that this was not going to have a happy ending.... I finally contacted a real person, who promptly hung up on me. I called back again only to be disconnected, again. On the third attempt, I talked to a real person who told me that my problem was that the unit was not compatible with the Nano 5G! The hot Nano currently being sold by Apple. What! Since there is actually nothing wrong with the unit, I am not able to return it. The extremely polite Indian man informed me that this was my problem, not his. He does have a very good point. However, I did wish him good luck in getting a new job when his current employer went out of business due to poor customer service. The bottom line is do not buy any product made by XtremeMac.

(More customer reviews)Was looking for a reasonably priced, good sounding CD clock radio to replace my old Sony cassette clock radio that had great fidelity. Overall, this unit was a disappointment especially for the price and the Sony name. Despite two front speakers and a rear "subwoofer", the sound is tinny and lacking in power. My old cassette unit, with only one 4" speaker sounds much better. Also, reception is weak. Only the closest, most powerful stations come in clearly. Others are full of static and you have to change the direction of the wire antennae for each; a nuisance. Another annoyance is the chirping noise made by the CD when changing tracks, especially long while it searches for a track in random play.

While very full featured, the controls are a bit awkward. Those on top are easy to use thanks to the tactile dots on the critical buttons. The ones on the front are hard to find by feel. Several are very small and awkwardly placed. The primary radio on/off and CD play buttons are flush with the face and almost impossible to find without looking. The display is large and easy to read, and has lots of information, though fades when not looking head-on.

I'm still using this though I continue to search for a better sounding unit with more thoughtful controls.

I got this one because the campy silly fun colors and stuff,,,, might as well feel good about getting up. (It was also a bit less expensive than some choices, though without all the features of some from this company.) I have a TERRIBLE time getting up in the AM and gave this a try- as other reviewers mentioned the vibrating unit definitely lets you know it's time to jump out of bed! The alarm on this one has adjustable volume and can be set to wake- the- neighbors loud; I do not even need it as loud as my regular alarm, at least for now, because it has an odd sort of siren- like whoop to it which wakes me..... and you can also set the tone of the alarm so it whoops slower or faster. There are flashing lights on it too, I did not think they would be helpful but they are, they are just one more thing to grab your attention. When I first tried this out the cat went flying off the bed and down the hall! I imagine like anything I could get used to it, but at least for now it is impossible to sleep through...... and I suspect will stay that way for quite awhile, expecially with the options to change tone and loudness. You can either turn it off just for the day, leaving the alarm set for the next day, or cancel the alarm till it is re- turned on. You can also choose to use just tone, just vibrator or both. A reviewer of a similar product from this company said it gave her a headache; I find that surprising, but then I am not prone to headaches, and I did put the bed- shaking unit under an extra pillow and not immediately under my head. As some others have noted this might irritate a bed-mate (or even roomate or suitemate) quite a bit. But it certainly does the job.

(More customer reviews)I sleep with earplugs, and purchased this clock because it promised to be LOUD... but it is an electronic kind of "loud" that just isn't loud enough, at least not for me, so in this respect I was disappointed in it (strike one). The vibrating pad doesn't stay under me, but ends up on the floor in the morning (strike two). However, it has one great feature that made me decide to keep it despite the relatively high price -- it has the option of turning on a light of your choice (you plug it into the back) when the alarm goes off, and that wakes me up. It does have a big beautiful display as well.

(More customer reviews)Before you buy this just know that it's cheap. It is made of cheap plastic, and under no circumstances trust your iPod in it not to get wet and get ruined. Also be aware that it DOES NOT FIT ALL iPods!!!! I have a 30 gig iPod and I cannot get it in there all the way because the wire that connects into the head set plug stops it from setting in correctly, which in turn stops me from putting in the bottom cover. Those little lights are a joke also. All in all I would have rather paid a little more money for a better built one. Also you can not navigate through your songs once you have put it in the radio. This thing is just all around CRAP!!!

But the real story is the sound, that Bongiovi Accoutics button on the dock really makes a wonderful difference. The bass sounds are deeper, treble and midranges are clearer, the sound is fantastic! I'd recommend this to anyone, definately a sweet sounding product.

I use the alarm function every day.I use it to charge my Ipod at night while I listen to music on the radio or ipod. The speaker isn't the greatest, but it's only a little clock radio so I don't expect much. I have hundreds of photos loaded on an SD card that plays as a slide show. I love looking at the photos as I go in and out of the bedroom during the day. It only took about 5 minutes to set up the photos. The Ipod charging station is very cheaply built. Poorly fitting plastic. I feel like I might break the thing every time I place the Ipod on it. My favorite thing about this radio is that it gets great reception. I live in an area with poor radio reception. However, this RCA radio will pull in many radio stations without any static at all. This was the main selling point for me. I compared this radio to a similar Sony radio. The Sony had very poor radio reception.

Sony RDP-XF100IP Portable iPod Docking Station Review

(More customer reviews)I had agonized over the ideal dock for my iPod Touch with the stipulations that it had to be a reasonable size (I've lost some interest in big component systems.), and it would need at least an FM radio. While I've wanted to try HD radio, my understanding of availability in my area was that it could be if-y. So, good FM access would be fine. It seems like a small thing, but I'm legally blind and don't drive, so casual access to something like a car radio is fairly rare for me. My first, and most familiar, choice was a product that I had some familiarity with - the VERS system, with newer models incorporating a highly visible FM tuner. I had eventually tired of shipping delays for this device and gone to Best Buy to find the Sony.
Not only did the Sony dock have better sound than the VERS that I once owned, it was smaller, stylish and has the best receiving FM tuner that I've ever found in a portable or non-portable device. I've tended to live in older homes with older wiring and cloth wrapped interference bleeding electrical systems. The reception on the Sony dock is unlike any that I've ever owned, even with the convenient telescoping antenna in the stowed position. And the sound is rich and vibrant - certainly comparable to the similar Bose device that sports no FM tuner at twice the price.
The controls at the top of the dock are easily accessed and perform all of the functions found on the remote. As I noted above, I'm legally blind, but depend just enough on the tiny amount of eyesight that I do have to make use of digital displays. This one, unfortunately, and while not a deal-breaker, is terrible. It could be larger, though it's not unreasonably small. The problem is that it's abysmally dim - of almost no use to me. If this was an adjustable - and it wouldn't have hurt if it was larger - the dock would have received 5 stars from me.
In all, the RDP-XF100iP dock is not just a fine dock that does what I'd expect a dock to do, but is a nicely put together package that represents Sony quality first represented for me in my first Trinitron to my latest HD television. Highly recommended.
