(More customer reviews)I've owned one of these for 17 years. I was inspired to buy a wood wall clock with a pendulum by my mother's cuckoo clock. I knew my husband wouldn't go for the cuckoo, and it did have to be wound every day. Also I love the look of grandfather clocks, but I didn't want something that heavy, and grandfather clocks use floor space.
I went shopping and it was love at first sight. I saw some beautiful clocks, and some cost a lot more, but this was it. It's a classic, beautiful clock with large, clear numbers. It keeps time beautifully. It's never off. You do have to change the time in spring and fall. It's not computerized.
I love the chimes, too, and you can adjust the volume and even set them to not ring at night. The clock doesn't run on the pendulum. Set it swinging when you mount it and it keeps swinging. It's a bit boxy to handle, but it's not too heavy. You don't need to mount it over a stud. You can just use a picture hanger. There's a durable hanging ring on the back of this clock.
I truly prize this clock, and there aren't that many things I cherish, because things can't love you back. The price is about the same now as it was when I bought it, and I freaked about it, but it's been worth every penny. So useful and beautiful! What a great wedding or housewarming gift!
