(More customer reviews)I read all of the other reviews before I bought this. I have to admit that I was skeptical until I got it in the mail. It's true that you can't see the display when it's dark outside, but I solved this incredibly easily by painting the back of the display with a white acrylic paint in less than 10 seconds. It sticks on the window fine as long as you clean the window first and also wet the suction cup before you attach it. The accuracy of my particular unit is dead-on. I have 2 digital thermostats in the house...When I placed this unit on top of them it displayed the same temperature as the digital thermostats, but with an added bonus to the tenths of a degree displayed. So either all 3 of the thermometers are off by exactly the same amount or all of them are accurate. I assume they are all accurate. I can't speak for battery life because I've only been using this thermometer for about a week, but so far it appears to be well worth the price. If you have to replace the battery it is very simple to do.

Anticipate cold weather with a quick glance out the window at this digital outdoor window thermometer. Made by Chaney AcuRite, the thermometer sticks to any surface with a large, rubber suction on its metallic mount. The thermometer’s digital display conveys the temperature in easy-to-read 3/4-inch-high numerals. To offer illumination, a translucent pale green LCD frame borders the screen. The thermometer measures temperatures ranging from -4 to +158 degrees Fahrenheit to the tenth of a degree for precision; Celsius readings are not available with this item. Weather-resistant, the thermometer provides an on/off switch on its base underneath a weather-proof rubber seal. For the best results, install the thermometer out of direct sunlight. Moisten the suction before applying it to a clean window pane to ensure a strong bond. While the thermometer’s screen is not backlit, by painting or covering its backside white, the light from the frame may allow nighttime reading. A pre-installed L1154 cell battery powers the thermometer and can be replaced using a small Phillips screwdriver. Made in China, the thermometer is covered by a limited one-year warranty. The thermometer measures 2 inches wide by 1/2 inch deep by 3-1/4 inches high and weighs 2 pounds upon shipping.

Ours went out after 3 years and we called the company and they said it was only supposed to work for 3 to 5 years. They sent out a new, free, but this is nothing to pass on to your kids. Garage sale stuff.

The package it was in did not have a protective cover on the front or back, and there was a small scratch on the clock's face. Instead of returning it, I requested and received a small credit from Amazon. I appreciated Amazon's willingness to handle it this way, since the only damage was cosmetic. However, if you need a pristine clock, be sure to inspect it carefully for scratches.

(More customer reviews)Although the hands of the clock don't seem to be very sturdy, there's no problem with them once the clock is in place. I did think that the background of the clock looked better in the picture than in person because it almost looks like it is made out of paper (the entire background is printed), but unless you are inspecting it up close, it's not that noticeable. I am satisfied with the clock and do think it's a very nice clock for the price.

Chaney Instrument Wireless Weather Station and Clock Review

(More customer reviews)I have owned this wireless thermometer for over two years. It has worked well. I have the remote sensor on the outdoor porch protected from the weather and sun. It is about 30 feet away. It just does its thing, and that is great. I have not used the alarm clock nor snooze function (snooze??).
Only complaints: Well I lost my manual and I forgot it was an atomic clock. The setting clock setting buttons just plain won't work. It takes 12-24 hours for the atomic clock to set.
Only other thing, is I will be darned if I can find it's model number. Everything these days is referenced by a model number (even when I went on line to try to find a manual). Note that even this Amazon ad does not indicate a model number I can see.
Overall. I liked it. It works for me.

Its in my new bathroom which is all earth colors and hardware is brushed nickel...Its alittle smaller than your typical wall clock but other than that its great. (More customer reviews)The cool thing about this clock is that it's got a digital timekeeper on the back, which is what you set (not the hands). The hands adjust automatically to be match the digital time, so there is pretty much no drift like some analog clocks have. But it's plastic and therefore just a bit dorky, in spite of its attactive design. Yeah you can spend a lot more on a clock, but you can spend a lot less too.

It's working okay now, but it's in my house. I painted the hands because they are too dark to see from a distance. I'll put it out when the rainy season is over. Worked fine until it rained.

(More customer reviews)I purchased this clock and put it up outside in an unobstructed area, hanging on a wooden fence. It seemed to get a great signal, but about a week after purchase it lost 15 minutes, and didn't recover it.
Went through the reset procedure, 10 days later, same problem, lost 45 minutes, didn't recover it.
By now I'm past Amazon's 30 day return window, so I go to the manufacturer's web site and submit a support request. Only guess what? Their support request page is broken! I submit my info and get this:

This, in layman's terms, is lame. First off, rule one is that you catch all errors on your web page and give people a readable explanation of what went wrong. Second, they've just opened the door for hackers by letting then know what SQL server they are using, the fact that they are using ASP, and have provided some info about where their scripts are located.
Stupid. Nothing to do with the clock, but a company that doesn't know how to provide customer support might be one you want to steer clear of for ANY product.
In any case, the performance of the clock is UNSATISFACTORY, the company support is UNSATISFACTORY, and I recommend that under no circumstances do you buy this product.
