She called me less than 2 weeks later to tell me the spring broke and flew off so we had to send it back. The previous reviews said it was worth the money, but I will keep looking for a better one.

My kids use this timer to time themselves while doing homework, taking turns on games etc. It's very simple to use, and is sturdy and dependable. The ring is loud enough to hear from another room, and the digital display is big and clear. The triple A battery is easy to replace. The magnet on the back is handy for keeping the timer on a file cabinet or refrigerator. The magnet is strong, so that the timer doesn't fall off. I already have 2 of these timers at home, since the kids and I use it so much. It's convenient to have one in the kitchen, one in the playroom, and one in the office, so I'm thinking of buying a 3rd.

After "charging" in bright light for 5 min. or longer, the dial was barely readable in pitch dark (as in a bed room at night). Not as expected! Pathetic, might be accurate. Misleading... at least.

(More customer reviews)The clock is mechanical. I did not know they are still made, so I did not pay attention that in the description no batteries were mentioned... Why not state the fact clearly? I purchased it and now have to wind it up every day. I also have to put it far from my bed not to listen to ticktacks, which are rather loud. The only good thing about this clock is its turn-off button, which is big, visible and easily accessible.

Time Timer, 8 Inch Review

(More customer reviews)There is both an alarmed (two quiet beep) and a non-alarmed version of this timer. I got the non-alarmed version since the "alarm" is so meaningless, but the review is pretty much the same for both. It is the only visual timer on the market, really, so if you want something of this style, you have to buy this one. It is great for glancing over and seeing immediately how much time you have left in a visual "pie chart" sort of way, without having to look for numbers or dots or anything else. That being said, this is VERY cheap and flimsy and you pay 4-5 times as much as you'd pay for any other timer. So I'm really looking forward to other people coming out with similar products that are higher quality and more reasonable in price.

(More customer reviews)Although this is the best alarm clock I've found, yet, the alarm is far from "ascending," as promised. Though the alarm bell isn't harsh, it is far from soft when it first goes off. I'd classify its "ascending" sequence as loud, then loud and fast, and then loud and fast and very annoying. The delay between sequences is also very, very short, so you're quickly to the final, most annoying alarm setting if you don't immediately jump up and turn it off, which seems counter to the whole idea behind the clock. The second hand, as well, is not silent, either. If you have it on a night stand right next to your bed, you can hear it, though it's much quieter and much less annoying than a typical alarm clock's tick-tick-tick.

The first one would intermittently stop working for extended periods of time, then start back up on its own, or else I would have to gently tap it to get it going again (I tried two different batteries to make sure it wasn't that). The clock looked great, so I returned it and had another one sent to me. The second one had the same problem as the first one. Was very disappointed! Have also now returned that one, too!

Setting the alarm is SUPER easy. There is a built in night-light, amber when the alarm is turned off, green when on. Auto-sensor turns off LED in the daytime or when lights are on. Pressing the snooze button increases LED brightness making the clock easily visible in the dark. I thought the LEDs would mean frequent battery changes but they last and last. Alarm sound is an escalating beep that increases in volume.
This is a great clock for any drowsy person to operate correctly.
