Purchased this clock for my 91 yr old grandmother because of her failing eyesight. She called me less than 2 weeks later to tell me the spring broke and flew off so we had to send it back. The previous reviews said it was worth the money, but I will keep looking for a better one.

Progressive International Little Timer Review

Progressive International Little Timer

Isn't this a cute and stylish timer? That's what I thought when I bought it...but as a timer it's useless. The buzzer is so faint and short, that you have to be standing nearby in the kitchen to hear it. Tonight I burned what would have been a wonderful pie because I was in another room when this weak buzzer sounded-and I didn't hear a thing.
I've had it! I've just ordered the Oregon Scientific digital timer to replace this cheap thing.

Can't believe how quickly this little heater heats up my master bedroom, which stays so much cooler than the rest of the house without it. It oscillates well and keeps the whole large master warm. You can set it on one dot and it will shut off quickly or set it to several and it stays on all night. you can set it on heat level one or two depending on how hot you want it. you can put it on just fan in the summer to cool the room. It is great that you can set it on high and get the room good and warm before bed, and then just set sit on one dot and it will cut on and off, keeping the room a little cooler but not cold while you sleep.

Polder TMR-530-95 Digital Rotary Timer, Black Review

Polder TMR-530-95 Digital Rotary Timer, Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
It seems like a good idea...a timer you set by rotating the ring around the outside with a lanyard to keep it handy while you are working. But this timer is a frustration and a big PITA!!
First the "pros": It keeps time and the alert is sufficiently loud. The lanyard is a good idea. The magnets on the back seem strong enough to hold it to most surfaces.
However, the design is poor. First of all, this thing is big, 3" in diameter and 1.5 inches thick.
Second, it is shaped like a flying saucer and is slippery even when dry. If your hands are a bit wet or greasy it is nearly impossible to hold. If you have small or ham hands you would do well to look elsewhere.
Third, it is difficult to hold in one hand and rotate the ring to set the time, and just as clumsy to use two-handed.
Fourth, the ridges in the ring are shallow and not of much use.
Lastly, and the worst "feature," is the location of the buttons. The stop/start button is just to the right of the loop on the top, and the reset is on the left of the loop. When you pick it up you almost invariably hit the start/stop button...which starts it counting up unless the countdown timer is running. In that case you will stop the timing.
The lanyard connects to the top of the timer, but when you wear it around your neck the timer is upside down. When you pick it up to check the remaining time and turn it around...and there's those d@%# buttons again!
I wanted to like this timer, and the Polder name was a selling point, but they really blew it on this one.

DeLonghi TCH7590EB 30-Inch Ceramic Tower Heater, Black Review

DeLonghi TCH7590EB 30-Inch Ceramic Tower Heater, Black
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I first got the 24inch Ceramic Fan Heater by DeLonghi, and I liked it quite a bit so I decided to get a second one for another room. Both of them are pretty great.
This 30inch heater out of the box is an attractive, glossy black. The blue LED screen is easy to read and just the right size. I do not find the brightness to be overwhelming at night, but then again I do not often sleep in a completely dark room, I have a couple air fresheners with nightlights to help keep my footing at night, so whoever was complaining it was too bright must sure be picky. If it is too bright for you, I suggest placing some "self-stick" saran wrap that Glad now sells. The one where you press the edges and it sticks to the plate. This wrap has a bit of opacity to it, and it will not leave any kind of nasty tape residue on your machine. The LED area also does not get at all warm, it remains cool to the touch actually even after hours of running the machine. Just a suggestion.
I will clear up something, the reviewer "KOTCH" must be of low IQ or something, because the base only comes in 2 parts with some screws. And it literally takes 2-3mins to place on the heater even without reading the directions. It could not be any simpler people. So please do not worry about it, my technologically phobic haircutter wouldn't have issues.
The machine once set-up and going has just about all the features you need. It has the built in thermostat that maintains the temp you want fairly close. The thermostat does NOT give the current temp, though, but purchase one of those mini-temp readers that are approx 1x1 inches and settle it near the machine and you're set. The machine has 3 modes - Heat, Fan, and Anti-Freeze. The heat mode has Low, High, and Auto settings. The Auto setting simply makes the decision based on ambient information whether to run at low or high to meet the set thermostat temp, which can be handy if running during the night and you wish to keep energy bills down. The Fan mode has Low and High settings. Then the antifreeze mode simply ensures that the temp does not go below 45degrees, this number is not adjustable. I guess it would be handy in my basement where the temp gets cold cold cold, and this machine would keep it from getting that bad, but overall, I do not really see much use for this setting. Unlike the 24inch model, this machine dooes not have an ECO mode, BUT the "Auto" mode technically the same.
The thermostat is defaulted at 72degrees and can be set at low as 60degrees or as high as 90degrees and the thermostat is not available in fan mode, only heat mode. The machine has an oscillating feature, which helps heat rooms much more effectively, but I like to have the heater blowing right on my body, so I don't use it all the time. Regarding the Timer feature, I think a previous reviewer gave a confusing explanation. The Timer feature has TWO modes. The first mode is set when the machine is on STAND-BY which is simply put when the machine is turned off. When the button is pressed during stand-by you can set the clock to turn on automatically after set amount of time under previous temp settings.
Then if you press the timer function while the machine is already on and running, the machine will automatically shut off. Under BOTH settings you can set the timer anywhere between 0.5hrs to 24hrs in 1/2hour increments. So the timer DOES have an auto-on and an auto-off function and reviewer "Duc" simply must not have read the directions, maybe Kotch and Duc are related, shrug.
The remote is fairly simple. It has an oscillation button, a level button (low, high, auto), a thermostat button, mode button, and an on/off button. Unfortunately, like the 24inch model, the remote is missing a Timer button, but survivable. Also, the remote does not have an LED to show any settings, you'll have to have the heater in visual range to ensure settings via remote. To address the "BEEP" level, it is basically a normal level, about the same as my microwave. Although, the 24inch model does seem somewhat quieter. For me, I could not care less, it'd of been nice to have a volume setting simply for the option, but I can live without it, and I personally could sleep through a few beeps. On a side note, the tip over function works perfectly, and actually works a bit more picky than the 24inch model. There is also a removable and cleanable filter in the back. The front of the heater also does not get to be dangerously warm to the touch, which is good for safety. DeLonghi also inserts a mailer with your heater such that you can buy an extended 2year warranty for the heater for $18 if that helps anyone make a decision.
I did mention this machine was 98% of what I expected. The only things I had kind of expected, but did not receive was that I thought the machine's heater mode has 3 STRENGTH settings and not an "auto" setting. I was hoping for a "medium" setting or an "extra high" setting for blow strength, but no biggie. In addition, the buttons on the machine itself are black on black so very hard to see what the buttons are without some type of light. The LED does not dim no matter how much time has gone by, unless it is in standby/off. And the LED does not seem to turn off TOTALLY unless the machine is unplugged.
I hope my review helps you all make a decision, I will say that I was quite toasty and comfy while typing this out! I apologize if I hurt Kotch's or Duc's feelings or misinterpreted their reviews...just wish people would not be so misleading in their reviews. I would have given the heater 4 - 4.5stars, but gave 5 stars to off-set the inaccurate reviews.

The shape and style of this clock are very nice. The wood is finished well, and the small brass touches are just the right detail, as is the curved glass face. The best thing, however, is that, though the design is traditional, the works are the latest thing. I put in the one AA battery required, and within a minute*, the hands on the clock began turning and the accurate time was up very shortly.
*Just a heads-up for the potential purchaser of this item: I tried two batteries before the one that finally worked, and I thought (hoped) they were dead batteries because the clock did nothing. Not a quiver. I installed the third battery and set the clock aside to read the instructions over again to see if I was doing something wrong. When I looked back at the clock, it was working away! It seems that it takes a minute for the clock to find the satellite. There was nothing wrong with the first two batteries at all. So, be patient, folks.

I have only owned this product for a week, however it appears to work nicely. The best part of this timer is its design. Everyone who has seen it loves it.
One note about functionality: To operate this timer, you have to pull the "tape" all the way out (60 mins) then you use an adjustment wheel on the bottom to retract it to the time you want. The unit will only work if operated this way. I did not find this to be a negative, but it is a bit more work than you would expect just from looking at it.

I was skeptical about buying this clock since there was no review available. After two weeks of searching what's available on line, I decided to take a chance by ordering this clock. When it arrived in the mail, I was very happy with the looks of the clock. It has a very clean look and the numbers are easy to read. The second hand on the has a faint ticking noise but from a distance it's hardly audible. The wood frame, however, doesn't not look as red as it appears on line but overall, I'm very satisified with the appearance and features. The clock adjusts itself to daylight savings time and it was realitively easy to set up.

Stay informed of the precise time with this 12-inch atomic wall clock from La Crosse Technology. Radio-controlled by signals from the national atomic clock’s WWVB radio transmitter in Colorado, the clock resets daily according to these transmissions for continued time and date accuracy. The clock also releases users from remembering to change the time for Daylight Savings Time (DST) with an automatic DST feature.
Crafted with a black plastic frame, the wall clock features an analog face. Large black numbers circle the dial to mark the hours while smaller black numbers indicate the minutes. On the backside of the clock, the user selects the appropriate US time zone button for Eastern, Central, Mountain, or Pacific times. Another button deactivates the automatic DST for residents of Arizona and other regions that don’t observe daylight savings. The clock’s button interface also permits manual time setting, but the atomic clock will override manual settings when in range of the WWVB signal. Set inside the clock’s face, a small LCD relates the indoor temperature, date, day of week, world time, or seconds. Four different digital display views are available, selected and adjusted with buttons on the back of the LCD. With a range of 14.2 to 103.8 degrees F, temperatures are expressed in Fahrenheit to the tenth of a degree. World time is displayed in a 12-hour format with a PM indicator. For the best results, hang the clock near a window at least 6 feet away from TVs, computers, and other electronic appliances. This item is designed for indoor use only. To power the clock, the separate purchase of two AA batteries is required. A one-year limited warranty covers this item. The clock measures 12 inches wide by 1-1/2 inches deep by 12 inches high.

Seiko Bedside Alarm Clock Silver-Tone Metallic Case Review

Seiko Bedside Alarm Clock Silver-Tone Metallic Case
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I'm always looking for the Nirvana product...best briefcase, cellphone, carry-on bag, toiletries container...and that's just for travel. I'm obsessive about my golf clubs, cars, televisions, etc. So when I stayed in a luxury hotel in Palo Alto, CA, this somewhat normal looking clock was on the nightstand. I looked at it, no cord, but a very large and readable face. And what was this little dial on the lower right? I spun it and it was the most effective and easy to use alarm setting dial I had ever seen...on the front of the clock!!!! I noticed it had a simple alarm on/off on the right and a large snooze button on top. Also, on the lower left was what looked like some kind of sensor. So I set the alarm and a placed a backup wakeup call as I usually do to the front desk. When I turned the light off, I noticed that the clock face was glowing green from a small LED in the lower part of the dial! Turned the light back on and it went off. Turned the alarm off and the light off and the face glowed orange! So, turned the alarm back on, face glows green again!!!! So, if you're an idiot like me, then you get "reassurance" that the alarm is on if it's green. And if you want it even brighter, you press the snooze on top. The alarm is escalating, and incredibly effective. This thing should be in the MOMA for a design award. One of the best and most fairly priced items I've ever purchased on Amazon. I regularly give them for gifts to my team and friends. Only problem, it's a little large to travel with. BTW, I asked the front desk if I could keep the clock and they could charge it to my room and they said "sure, people ask to keep that clock all the time!" Might want to order some LiIon batteries, 3 AAs to go along with it. I think the silver one is cooler looking than the black one.
